What's the deal with Spider Man 3?

I know there are some juvenile moments in the first two films, but when Peter started doing that dance at MJ's nightclub I almost walked out of the theather. The whole Gwen Stacy plotline was a waste of space. I understand she was a major character in the comic books, but her character and her relationship with Peter was totally superfluous in this movie. I found it childish and misplaced. More Venom, less Gwen Stacy. Seriously, there were some scenes in this movie that rivaled the atrocious love scenes in the newer Star Wars movie. What did you think?
