Does the sims medieval take the same requirements or more as the sims 3?

My computer can't run the sims 3 well AT ALL. It can run the sims 2 at the highest setting but can't run the sims 3 on the lowest. I can play but its so choppy I don't even care to try. I was thinking about getting the sims medieval but wasn't sure if my computer will run it, any incite?
