Need some information on an Alfred Plea in Georgia.?

My brother is considering an Alfred Plea, however I don't think he is guilty. So anyone with some information on what an this actually entails. Also, If he applies for a job and they run a criminal back ground check will it appear if he takes the Plea? Once again we live in the state of Georgia.
